First off; there's no good reason why a console can't be HD (which is the future, why swim upstream?) and still cater to casuals and secondly; Ninty won't be as cocky as Sony were coming into this gen.
They only have this one successful gen behind them (Sony had two) and even though they won this bout, it is nowhere near the trouncing the PS2 gave the GC and the x-box (people will argue that, of course, but I'll ignore that till the Wii outsells the 360 and/or the PS3 by 500-550% by the end of this gen, which it won't).
