Ehm, you do know that the PSP version is a port also right? Of the PS2 version? Capcom hasn't created anything new in the MH universe since MHG on the PS2. The PSP versions have all been the same base (MHF) with a few added levels and weapons with each game. The MH universe is largely unchanged since it's first iteneration, and that didn't slow down the sales of any PSP version, by being a port, so that argument/logic is flawed. Also, the problem is that when the first PSP version came out, it had an install base of 2.2 mil, and didn't VGC just have an article of how the Wii passed 8 mil? So what's that? 4x the amount of potential users, for a slightly better opening for the Wii version? People really need to stop lowering the goal posts for this game. |
Yes I do know it was a port. A PS2 game that got ported to the PSP, found success on the platform and has now been ported to the Wii. So the Wii just sold 92 thousand of a port of a PS2 game that is already being played to death on the PSP with free online. Why would it be expected to suddenly be huge AGAIN on the Wii, with pay to play. If anything, the sales of this game just show how much interest there is in the MH3 demo, as buying MHG for Wii on it's own seems kind of like buying Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of time for Wii. You just get an inferior product.
Not to mention it's half of their shipment in day one. That sounds pretty inline with Capcom's expectations to me.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
