Valkyria Chronicles really is a great game. It is simple yet deep, along with being beautiful and having a great story.
For example, Some of the maps will take you multiple tries before you figure out how to beat it and the strategy is deep enough to keep you entertained all the way through the entire game. You have varying characters with their own special abilities and traits. However, if someone dies you can just replace them without having to worry about levels. Instead of messing around with leveling 12 different characters you just level the groups of characters. So if one dies you just replace them with the next. Yea, you'll probably never do that, but if you have to you don't have a gimped lancer who can't take out tanks and needs to be leveled up first.
