The reason why i thought that only 1000 million sellers sounded so little is because we're talking about 2 decades of gaming, consoles and handhelds, all game genres, muliplatform versions are counted individually etc.

And I was thinking in my head, 'Tomb Raider... TR had like 5 or 6 sequels, and with multiplatform versions that franchise alone easily must have more than 10 million sellers, meaning that Tomb Raider alone is 1% of all million sellers in gaming' (nothing against Tomb Raider)?

I gotta go and check on TR how many million sellers it got.

I would very much doubt that 1000 is the correct number, and I would think that VGChartz has missed a lot of them. But if you think about it, 1000 in twenty years is 1 per week. More or less. It's not actually a small number, even if it seems like it.

But yes, it seems too little.

Good, thinking "one million seller per week" is a better way to picture yourself the number in your head (did that make any sense?) instead of my Tomb Raider example.

One per week sounds more realistic and makes sense, since there are usually no more than a handful of console games released every week.
