^ No PS1 games were 40$ and N64 games ranged from 60-70$ it was around the PS2 era they announced games would be a standard of 50$
Then right before 360 came out EA and MS released special edition Halo 2 and Madden for 60$ after they sold so well EA and MS said it was a test to see if people would pay 60$ for games and make it standard for the upcoming gen.
