No-one should expect this game to be as big as the PSP iterations. That's simply not going to happen. PSP is THE platform for it.
But what will happen now is that if MH3 will sell over a million (which is possible, but by no means a given) people will call it a failure, which is ridiculous. A console game over a million is a staggering success.
At the very least it will be by far the best sold non-Nintendo console game this gen so far in Japan, which can also hardly be considered a failure.
