I'd assume that there's simply no health meter, you can't take much damage, and he was being facetious by saying that as long as you have batteries in your Wii-mote, you have a chance at living, or something. I mean, I can't see them forcing you to buy new batteries (if you don't have rechargeables) just to 'heal' yourself.
Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
