@Konnichiwa, I agree
I know for a lot of people they just buy the game for the game, but if I like a game its nice to learn more about it and this is one of the reasons I absolutely love the Brothers In Arms series, they actually show the pictures of the locations from back in WW2 and they show the pictures from what it looked like when their team was there. And if you unlock the extras you can read the after action reports filed by troops that are the exact missions you found yourself playing through in the game.
It really helps connect everything together and give the whole thing more meaning. I especially appreciate the fact that it puts the violence in context. Don't get me wrong I enjoy some good video game violence every now and then but given the choice I prefer it have purpose or reason to it.
Anyways, this game looks like it is shaping up pretty well and some of those events look pretty interesting. I have never really played any of these olympic video games in the past, perhaps somebody could comment on the number of events? It seems like a long list but there are plenty more events at the actual olympics so I am not sure how this compares to past games.
PS - I am looking forward to Mario & Sonic @ the Winter Olympics for some badass snowboarding and skiiing goodness!
