of course because the sony fanboys dont see as failure while logical gamers do.

the real problem is when Modern Warfare 2 comes out Killzone 2 will die off....while GoW2 will still have 4.77m sales in bag...

oh...and the original Kill Zone sold under a million on PS2...a system that apears in the sales char.(granted with out internet connectability) Kill Zone was a huge failure twice...I mean really....I remember they hype behind it since for ever....medicore indeed

It's times like this that I wish we were like NeoGAF and trolling was non-existent. Then I remember that NeoGAF is a tyranny, and realise that VGC is probably the best you can get.

Anyway, the original Killzone did not sell under a million on the PS2. If you cared to actually click on the name rather than just read the number, you'd see that the 0.78 million was only NA and Japan. This is a Europe developed game. It would have sold more in Europe than it did in America, despite being an FPS (besides, FPS wasn't a large demographic, back on the PS2). The developers mentioned somewhere that it had crossed 2 million, and I would find a source, but this is off topic and irrelevant, so I'll move on.

Killzone was a mediocre game. It showed great promise, but had quite a few significant flaws that kept it from greatness. To be honest, it did not deserve the 2 million sales that it received. It was the sort of game that should have sold around a million copies, and stopped. It was a disappointment, because those idiots we call the media hyped it to be a Halo killer, which it could never be.

And then, Killzone 2 came along. The Xbots doubted. They doubted like hell. "Guerilla suck", they said "The first Killzone was awful", they said. They made their predictions, as time went on, and even as the reviews poured in. Overwhelmingly positive, for the most part. A 92 on Metacritic, just two points away from Halo 3, CoD4 and Gears of War. Higher than Fable II, I should also add. But some people considered this a disappointment, because apparently it was hailed as the second coming of Christ (never have I heard anybody say this would be the best game of all time, nor the best FPS, nor even the best game on PS3).

And they made more predictions. I've seen people predicting 450k first week, and 1.5 million lifetime. Incidentally, these are the same people saying that these sales are disappointing. I personally expected 700-800k first week, and that's what it did. Expecting the same of a sequel to a mediocre FPS with 2 million sales and a massive series with enormous advertising campaigns, released in the holiday season, on a console famous for its abilities to sell first person shooters, is nothing short of moronic. Anybody who expected more than 3 million, more than 2 million, or even more than 1 million, needs a reality check.

Certainly, there are people who predicted this. They are not in a majority. I have not seen a single (serious) 3 million+ prediction, I have seen maybe one for 2 million + and a handful for 1 million plus. The majority of the predictions lay in the same range as mine, between 600k and 1 million. Looking at one prediction and calling it the opinion of the entire PS3 fanbase is stupid. It's fanboyish, and it's annoying.

So, I'd just like to say something: Killzone 2 is not mediocre, it doesn't have too much lag, it doesn't have control issues, it is not a flop, the sales are not disappointing, and it isn't a failure. I know this to be true, as does the majority of the gaming population. If you want to be a PS3 hater and say it sucks just because it isn't on your console of choice, go ahead. I have nothing more to say to you.
