Most Final Fantasy villians seem to whine a lot.

Take that back. Yeah Karol was whine but he saved our asses in that snowy place (forgot what that place was called).

 

The point of Emil and Karol was that they are pathetic and that they complain a lot, but as the story progress... they actually become something they originally weren't.
