| TalonMan said: God, this whole topic is such a weak argument. Let's make something very clear here: The people doing the reviews are simply 'hobbyists' - they are not paid for their work and are solely writing reviews on their own time and at their own pace. They are community members like everyone else here, but because of their higher standards and practices, have simply been granted access to tools on this site that already exist. So, with that said, I really must ask - how the HELL does anything they are doing affect the quality of our sales numbers??? One has absolutely nothing to do with the other, so I really don't understand the argument here. If Brett himself was spending all of this time writing reviews and such, your argument might have merit - but since he is not, this entire thread is a waste of space. "Focus on the core business to be deemed as a trustworthy site. Not on have been reviews" - That's what Brett is doing and that's all he is doing. Everything else is done by community members and has no affect on what he does and how he does it. |
This.
Let me ask you something, Gazz: If we brought you on as a contributor (were you so inclined), you're saying we'd bring down the quality of the site from what it is now?
Well, that could be a bad example, as I'd actually agree on that one...
Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
