No, I'm actually a big fan of hack/slash games - which is maybe why I was expecting more, and can be a little picky. Its not that the gameplay is repetitive - that holds true for virtually every game out there. Its that the levels don't do enough to change the formula, or add new elements to the game to "play differently". Its not an exploration game - nor does it have puzzles, significant strategies (etc). Maybe I haven't played enough of it, and maybe I haven't spent enough time on it to get really deep into the combo system. The core game is fun, its definitely different - I guess I was just expecting more (or something slightly different). And the lack of technical polish disappoints me. It reeks of either a rushed, or 'lack-of-care' product. The highlight is the integration of the Wii controls - they are excellent. But maybe if I was using them to finish off a demon, rather than use a chainsaw to rip some random guy into bits... it would have appealed more to me. Overall, most of this balances out for me... into 'average'. And I definitely don't want to put anyone else off the game - everyone really should form their own opinion. Anything excessively gory is almost an instant turn-off for me these days, this could be the core reason...
