Eh, that's your opinion, then.
Most gamers consider mini-games short, usually silly games that give you points after playing a lot of these little games. Mario Party, Rayman Raving Rabbids, etc. You play short little games that make up the larger whole.
In round-based FPS multiplayer, it's pretty much a separate entity from the single player game. You fight and either kill everybody, or complete an objective like capture the flag or king of the hill.
I don't really know how to explain it...but almost all gamers would not call FPS multiplayer games "minigames."
