I am just surprised by how long the effect has been going. I laughed when Microsoft called it the "magic price point", but I'll be damned if it doesn't seem to be right at this point in time.

Well it sure as hell didn't work for the N64 or the Gamecube.... or the Dreamcast.
I suppose you're going to rebute this by saying the systems didn't have great software. (Not calling you out, I'm just noting it to myself)
