As promised!

Wrong!

Check the methodology of the survey, they used people meters which is exactly what theprof stated

The sample size is approx 17,000 homes (someone had asked earlier about sample size)

So, if they're using a meter attached to the device how do they factor out the ammount of time a PS3 or XBox 360 is being used for its non-gaming functions?

Suppose the average PS3 or XBox 360 user used their system for 3 hours per week for its media functionality, which wouldn't be extreme at all given the PS3 and XBox 360 users I know (including myself), that would mean that the average HD console owner played videogames on their system for less time than their Wii counterparts.

It wouldn't... and it doesn't.  Which isn't that important to nielson since this report is for sale largely for videogame companies to know when to advertise their games... since it's basically about when gamers are watching TV and what they are watching.

This is the kind of thing so that Sony doesn't blow too much money on prime time advertising and the like.

Really all that would do is make the PS3 look even worse though.
