My answer:
You picked a bad example here. The reason is Capcom and thus the Japanese gamers.
Devil May Cry 4 came out one year ago and had similar sales back then.

OT: It's just normal that games start to sell a bit better than before on the PS3 in a direct comparison with the 360 :)
