@JRPG: What makes you think the publishers keep making games PS3 or 360 as a leading platform? They keep going to the platform with biggest installbase, where the money's at. There will be games where PS3or 360 is the leading platform, and even exclusives, but it's not going to be a general trend.
Nobody was arguing about definition of shovelware, Mike asked you questions relating to why Carnival Games is shovelware. To which you didn't answer.
Your shovelware argument goes against the sales of the game and feedback considering the game.
So, you are trying to argue about the quality of shovelware. It really doesn't matter, if the games are so bad nobody wants to play them.
@Sirroman: It's true. The quality control is what you hear everybody whining about Nintendo treating 3rd parties badly.
The pinnacle of the quality control was seen with N64, where Nintendo limited the developers that were able to dev for N64 to devs they saw being good enough. The "dreamteam".
@KylieDog: The dedicated sections were due to large number of games. I'm quite sure there wasn't "shovelware", "mediocre" and "AAA" sections.
PS2 had large amount of bad games in the same point of its life, and i really can't say which one has the bigger percentage, but the true king of shovelware was PSX.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
