| RolStoppable said: That's pretty simple since Mario games don't have a lot of story and some spinoff series can be entirely ignored because they don't have any story (like Kart, Tennis, Golf, Strikers). Additionally, in the earlier games, most of the story is only written down in the instruction booklets of the game. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island would be the beginning of Mario's timeline and then the platformers follow in order from Donkey Kong all through Super Mario Galaxy, just ordered by their release dates. Even the RPGs can be squeezed inbetween just going by their release dates. The same holds true for everything else there was. It really seems like the only outlier (i.e. prequel) seems to be SMW2:YI, all other games follow right after each other, like for example in Super Mario World, Mario is taking a vacation after having saved Princess Peach in Super Mario Bros. 3. Now that I think about it once again, Yoshi's Island DS is another prequel and takes place right after SMW2:YI. Am I missing something else? |
Where would the original Mario Brothers go on the time line?
I'm wondering if it would be before or after Donkey Kong.
