Interesting. I forgot that possibility. That sounds quite plausible.
I had already eliminated the following hypothesis :
- "Price drop" : impossible just 3 days after the release,
- "Positive mouth to mouth" : professional reviews are mostly bad, and apparently so are users reviews, from my quick search.
- "Mainstream longterm appeal" : Looks like any other average action-packed video game aimed at the 16-25 years old male gamers. Highly unlikely.
- "Exceptionnal Promotion" : I have not heard of anything like a special advertisement campaign. It wouldn't have such an impact anyway.
Was there any report of sold-out for this game in retail stores in the UK and Ireland ?
