Miyamoto definitely improved the franchise and made it the best games out of all of them, if he did indeed have a hand in the matter. If he didn't have a hand in them, then I would say they sucked, and could have been improved with his voice.
What's with all the ragging on wii? the wiimote is the best controller ever made. Maybe they are scared of the possibilities.
