I think what Erik is trying to say is, by core games, he means games people sit down and play. Hardcore Nintendo fans want to sit down and play games like they used to, even during GCN times. But instead Nintendo's new focus is for games that are pretty much the exact opposite.
These "core" Nintendo fans want to enjoy video games like they always have, not get up on a balance board and shake their ass......they could do that without a Wii
