Sony's situation isn't terrible even though they are selling the least. Unless they plan to win the console war no matter the cost, it wouldn't make much sense to make a big cut. I doubt they can or want to cut the price by more than $20-$30 right now. Before Christmas is probably a very different case though...
Besides, they're probably cutting the price of the PS2 already. I'm sure cutting the price of the PS3 would cause some competition between the two, possibly even rendering both cuts kind of useless. They cut the PS2 now and get increased profit from increased sales, also possibly stealing some sales from the other two 7th gen consoles. Then they cut the PS3 in the latter half of the year to boost its sales.
