I can see Madworld on a similar level of Gears of War or God of War but not Manhunt 2. With or without Wiimote controls that game is still the most violent and suggestive game I've ever played. And the only game I've ever traded in because I couldn't handle the violence. But even with Madworld and Gears of War having similar violence ranges, the point is that Gears isn't about how much you can brutalize somethign else. Everything in Madworld is about how brutal can you make your kills. That gives it the niche violence just like Manhunt 2 had. That's what separates it from a hack and slash like God of War or a shooter like Gears. |
That's why I said earlier that the actions are similar but the tone is different.
MadWorld and Manhunt 2 are killing for the sake of brutality and more killing.
Gears and GoW both have a bit more purpose and brutality is the focus of the game.
