1. The 4.5 figure is for the whole series, not MGS4 alone. That includes The Essential Collection released in North America, the re-releases in Japan (I think they're still around), and the rest of the series if Konami still ships them. Anyway, my point is that it's not MGS4 alone.
2. When Konami says sold, they mean they've sold so many copies to retailers. That's basically the same as shipped to retailers. All in all, it's not the same 'sold to consumers' that VG Chartz tracks.
EDIT: It seems I was late... Should have read the topic before posting. Oh well, I suppose it'll be more clear now.
