It never made any sense. How did Hyrule come back from absolute destruction when there was only a single citizen left (Princess Zelda)?
And yeah, Eiji Anouma said that the Wind Waker takes place ~100 years after the adult Link ending of the Ocarina, but I don't believe him. :P
