I think it's probably a prequel, or set in a totally different universe...

if they make this a prequel to windwaker and explain the whole ocean covering hyrule... well, i will pee my pants

It's probably set in a different place, I mean, you can only sail for so long before you find a continent sized chunk of land, right?

yeah i know but i mean like have a game showing it or something a little more then some text and game sceene saying the gods flodded the hyrule

we still dont know were the game is placed in the timeline and to what branch of the timeline its supposed to be placed

Well, according to Wind Waker, there was no link, so that's why that happened.

Link and Zelda probably found their new Hyrule. That was the whole point of being out in the ocean in the first place...
