Is the DS all over again exactly a bad thing, considering thats the fastest selling gaming device of all time?

Exactly my Point! ;P

Did the DS ever go through a point of selling just 26k, AFTER having success earlier?

I dont think so.

Well, the DS did drop down below 25K a number of times there even with it being sucessful in japan to start with. But then again, your Comparing Numbers and $$$ between hand held and consoles where as I was comparing situations between the 2, (Lack of 3rd party support led to slower sales after a great lauch period - then 3rd P's signed up after time) - Sales took off and hit the roof.

I expect the same to happen with the Wii. But then that's just my opinion. And Yes, I do aggree that the current sales of the Wii are horrid and should be much much higher for it to really be successful.

Well, I think this might help:

Taken from GoNintendo.com:

TGS - Which platform has the most games on display?

The first number is the software available at this year’s TGS. The second number shows last year’s amount.

NDS: 17.1% (10.4%)
Wii: 8.1% (1.0%)

PS2: 7.2% (20.1%)
360:4,9 % (4.0%)
PS3: 3.2% (3.6%)
PSP: 2.6% (6.6%)
PC: 0.2% (0.4%)
GBA: 0.0% (0.4%)

Original story run by Gamefront: http://gamefront.de/

The most interesting thing with these numbers is that Nintendo didn't show up, so Nintendo had no games on display other then the Mario and Sonic at the Olympics game which is being made by Sega. Crazy numbers... I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Actually... it's kinda grim for Sony right now as they gave up the most amount of third party support to Nintendo.  The chart is confusing a bit since it really only adds up to 43.3%... anyone know why?
