Not only do spinoffs vary wildly in quality, but more importantly, they vary wildly in how closely or distantly they relate to the core stories of the franchise: Crisis Core for the PSP, for example, is intimiately tied to the FF VII universe, while Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles isn't even pretending to be related to the same story line, and is only a Final Fantasy game because it happens to have the Final Fantasy name on it. All of the sales figures listed are fine, in my opinion, when we recognize this. |

We need some "Bill of Spinnoff rights" or something to make sure they are quality games
