PS3 has been performing fairly well in europe and okay in Japan, but I think everyone can agree its doing very poorly in North America. Its never tracked higher then the Xbox 360 on a week to week basis beyond the launch months and over the spring it got stomped.
At the same point in time after Launch XBox 360 had 2.8 Million Sold whereas PS3 has just 2.0 Million Sold thats a pretty huge difference, so on a week to week basis it could very easily fall under 50K once more and it wouldn't be too shocking although the holiday months are approaching.
Keep in mind the PS3 was available last year for $500......and again at $500, although this $500 package is certainly more appealing. Its interesting to note it hasn't run out yet like some people predicted might happen in August.
It'll be interesting to see how sales perform if the 80 gig remains at $599 (doubtful).
