Ok people, i see you making a couple of false assumptions.
1. Releasing a new console doesn't mean that the old ones manufacturing will be stopped.
2. The same consumers aren't buying consoles early on and later in its life. Just look at PS2 at the moment, it's selling to new customers, not just replacement ones.
3. Price drop after new console comes out, removes one obstacle for the old ones sales.
4. Even if the first party software support is dropped, there's still money left to be made for 3rd parties, that will support the console years after 1st party.
One thing that i see being very correct, is that Nintendo won't make the same mistake as it did with SNES, which is a way too late release that gave Sega a large chunck of Nintendos market.
@BladeOfGod: LMAO.
@Onyx: 1996, you mean.
Ei Kiinasti.
