Market leaders always have the most shelf life, this gen will be no different. NES sales lingered into the SNES era, SNEs into the PS1, and so on. Technology never saved anyone, it didn't save the N64, the xbox and GC from having a shorter lifespan than the ps2. Wasn't the NES supported for like 20 yrs? Wii is the nes of this generation.
If it is selling like this before any pricecut, what will happen when it gets one? or new colors or bundles? Doesn't the console get most of its sales when it retails at the "sweet spot" of 200$? The scary thing is I don't think Wii has peaked yet, less than 3 yrs old remember this, and it has eclipsed the SNES, less than 3 yrs old and it will eclipse the NES. 100 million is a shoe in. It will outsell the ps2.
