My computer is close enough, and most of my friends' computers are close enough that we can use our PC headsets to chat while playing online Wii games. I have a very long cord for my headset anyway, and the volume/mic controls are close to the headset.
This way, if we wanted to chat during Brawl, it really wouldn't be a problem. Easier than talking on the phone for sure.
