I thought the big draw of a DSi is DSware. The DSi is supposed to be much higher spec'd than the DSlite and the only thing that's going to use that extra power is DSware. If you completely elminate the ability to use DSware, you have a slightly thinner DSlite with less battery life and a bigger screen.
