| noname2200 said: Yeah, I do actually. Why not? There was no logical reason to skip RE2/CV in the original, but they did it anyway. Besides, what does RE4 have to do with Umbrella, really? A connection is hinted at, but I don't think it will be revealed in a (likely non-cannon) spinoff game. And I'm skeptical that this will be anything more than a modest-budget B-team game. That's what the original was, after all: outsourced to Cavia, originally an RE4-style game that got turned into a light-gun game halfway through, no visible indication that your enemies have been hurt, highly recycled assets from previous games... Don't mistake me, I bought UC, and I really, really liked it. But I don't mistake it for a Grade-A product, and I doubt that this will be that much more polished. I'm still getting this one, mind you, but it will be a bit bumming that this isn't the game it could have been. |
I think there's a very logical reason to skip RE2 and Code Veronica. It's for a sequel. And RE4 doesn't have to have anything to do with Umbrella. This isn't Umbrella Chronicles, it's "Darkside Chronicles", which if anything would suggest it will have more of 4 and 5 in it.
Anyways, this thread is looking a lot like the Excitebots or DeadSpace: Extraction threads. And much like those two, people are over reacting and will feel a lot different when the game actually comes out. Umbrella Chronicles was a terrific and well made game. Complaining about a sequel is kind of goofy.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
