So I presume Luxembourg is included in one of either Netherlands or Belgium.

Also the ratios for software and hardware are quite different between the two countries, Netherlands is less than 1.5* Belgium for software, but much more for hardware. So either games are more expensive in Belgium, hardware more expensive in Netherlands, or the Dutch buy more games per console than the Belgians.

Unless there is a further option involving what is constituted as "hardware"?

 

No data is available for Luxembourg, but with a population of under 500k it makes up less than 2% of Benelux population.

As for software to hardware value ratios, you can't really infer attach rates from hardware value. X360 software is generally the same price as PS3 software, but there is a big difference in hardware pricing between the two consoles. If X360 was more popular than PS3 in one country than the other it would be reflected in lower hardware value ratio.

Consoles generally have the same pricing across much of the Eurozone, so I don't think there should be any difference in pricing between the two countries.

Hopefully we'll get Belgian hardware numbers next month in ADESE annual report which should answer the question.

Hardware is simply consoles, it does not include accessories.

Well I hadn't thought of that... but the last time I remember PS3 being a bigger force (comparably) in Belgium than in Netherlands.... Of course that could have changed.
