Are people overreacting to the Wii's sales in Japan?

@ Okey - can you point out an instance where a movie release gave a hardware boost to a console? or where a demo did? I think people are overestimating that bundle. And I think you are underestimating the impact of the sheer number of great JRPGs the Wii has coming this year, namely the ones I mentioned and the ones Soriku mentioned.

@ point x - my point is that there is no reason to be scared of the PS3 (partially because scared is the wrong word for this situation, I had a Gamecube last gen and would not describe losing in sales or lacking 3rd party exclusives as scary :P) but also because the Wii is very much going to outsell the PS3 this year

I think you severly underestimate the power of Final Fantasy fanboys that NEED the speaical limited FF7 Ps3.

OT: I think people are overreacting, but it sure is something when Japan totally goes against the rest of the world.
