The Wii's success has so far come in two forms, the first: Nintendo franchises is a diminishing force in Japan but still commands sales and the second: Motion with Wii Sports and Wii Fit being a new phenomena which the Wii is still riding the wave of so far.

However, it's been a long time in terms of software. Wii Sports Resort should breath new life in to sales, but the real move will be when the Wii finally lands the demographic it has yet to appeal to. RPG/Japan styled action fans.

The 360 has done a lot of work to make that demographic push and it's seen success. Just imagine what that push would do on a system that already sells quite well. but it takes more than just small releases like Tenchu and Fragile. Those games tend to sell on systems that already have a large fanbase for them. The Wii needs the kinds of games that will attract that fanbase. And it's coming. Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest are two of the biggest franchises in Japan. Tales is no slouch and there are a whole host of other medium to high tear RPG games Wii bound. It's this push that will make the Wii a must have system for the traditional gamer in Japan and should seriously bite in to PS3/360 sales.
