if PS3 is considered a huge failure by you....then many previous console makers who launched at $600 would long for such a failure to happen to their consoles

Thats like saying if Microsoft released their next OS for $1000. Will it fail? Yes, but it will still sell more than others who have released at that price.

OR

If APPLE released their next IPOD for $400. Will it sell. Hell yea but they will tremendously lose ground and probably not be market leader bt will still sell.

SONY on the other hand are in a much worse position as they are also losing money

 

All I'm saying is that PS3.....the console that will be the highest selling 3rd place console or even 2nd can't be called a failure

you are making it out to be some huge failure

 

 

So if APPLE released their latest IPOD nano for $400. Went from 75% market share to  25% and is third place or even second. You wouldnt call that a huge failure???

It will also be the highest sell 2nd or 3rd place mp3 player

no i would call that a blunder....a mistake

a Failure would = discontinuing PS3.......very low 3rd part support......very low SW sales......very low HW sales n so on

if PS3 & 360 were launched as they were below cost.....by some company instead of a cash powerhouse like SONY or MS then that company would be bankrupt now.
