As far as sales GT5 will easly do what what Halo3 did.

Nonetheless, GT5 won't come close to 3.82M, really.

I think it's going to sell about 2M in its first week, if successful. Maybe a bit more, but that'd be luck!

GTA4 did 2.5 million bud.

Europe alone did 384k for what most of you on here call a $40 DEMO.  Gran Turismo is one of the strongest franchises right now.

You want to guage GT5 sales think GTA4 PS3 sales plus 500/800k which will be Japan. 

 

 

 

So, you think GT5 will sell 2.5M or something?

GTA is bigger than GT5, and I honestly think Gran Turismo 5 would be lucky to sell ~2M in its first week. If it really prospers, though, it could do it.
