I have posted this numerous times. The KZ2 boost was without a shadow of a doubt larger than people think.

Considering how every single console and handheld dropped from the previous week in the US are you implying that without Killzone 2 the PS3 would have been the only one to not decrease? I would say that is good news for the PS3.

If your not implying that then you would have to assume the Killzone 2 boost was actually more than just 13k.

Thanks to Smeags for the charts.

I know it is not 13k, it is 11,285, but that is the number the person I was responding to used in that other thread. He was talking about WW. Which I still think wasn't 13k but whatever.

Also if I am not mistaken, didn't sales drop across the board for the other consoles in Europe+Others as well?

In Europe consoles dropped as well, just as they did in the US. So going by that the increase for PS3 was actually larger than people thought there as well.

As also said in another thread, if we assume PS3 would have only dropped half as many sales as the 360 (which considering price, we can also assume it would have dropped by more than just half) had Killzone 2 not released, you can add a minimum of around 20k more hardware sales to the current total. High end you could add 30k+.

Killzone 2 definitely sold many units. Even as much as a 50% increase combined between the two territories as opposed to what it would have undoubtedly dropped to.
