Another well written post, and I agree 100%, half assed efforts equal half assed results much of the time. I see as the financial market continues to crumble, Wii will look very advantageous to developers starving to make money.

I also don't understand why some people harp on things that don't really get at the heart of what you were stating. "New" gen and "next" gen are just terms you used to create a distinction, nothing more. (at least that's how I looked at it)

Prestige is a good way to put it. During the NES' rise you had the same attitude circulating around the gaming community as well, fad, weak, not for real gamers, it was all said before, then the crash happened and those companies that once shunned Nintendo ended up NEEDING Nintendo, we'll see what happens this time.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
