hey i suppose everyone would be happy with an on rails halo, KZ, gears of war and everything else eh?
i guess this guy has no reason to complain eh?

halo went RTS and I don't remember the internet exploding in such rage.

Did Microsoft announce a "new Halo game" only to later reveal it was actually an RTS?

I'm sorry, but in this day and age an RTS is WAY more acceptable than an on-rails. If you disagree then I know you're just trying to be difficult.

I think you misunderstood my point.

Microsoft (probably) didn't create disappointment since they (I assume) never implied the next Halo game would be a FPS by not declaring its genre. By analogy it wouldn't have been as big a problem if EA had announced this was an on-rails shooter right off the bat (which is what they should have done to avoid the negativity we're seeing now).

If Microsoft had done the same with Halo Wars, or if Killzone 3 was announced tomorrow and 2 weeks later announced to be a platformer, people would be rightly disappointed. But maybe asking for empathy from fanboys is too much?
