So, you are saying a system sells software and software doesn't sell systems? So, are you saying the PS3/360 are no competition to the Wii software because those systems do not meet the needs of this generation? Interesting, and somewhat true I guess. However this thread was about system sellers not software sellers. Interesting spin, but as wii sports demonstrates the advantages of the wii hardware (motion controls), it is a system seller. It is not a pack in in Japan, and it's sales are also high in Japan. So, it is clear that it is a system seller and that many people are buying the wii for wii sports (and wii fit). When well over 30% continue to buy it with a new system two years after it's release, it is clearly a system seller.

this is about the wii and only the wii. and where do you get line 2? i never said that (i love my 360). I am arguing that the wii dose not have any system sellers because its epic sales are not based on its games pushing the sales of units. but its units pushing the sales of games, due to a number of different things listed in my posts above.
you are right in regard that japan could hurt my argument. but a quick glance at items for sale shows that bundling at the store level could account for some of this, while reduced cost vs other games. tie this in with marketing and in store demos and there is why it paces above other comparable software. it also helps that its replacement is not out yet, and will never be viewed as a replacement but rather as an expansion.
I do agree that normally any game over 30% would be. but in this case no. I have stated my many disagreements with the point in the posts above.
