Lets talk about Wii Fit for a start. Are you seriously suggesting that people bought the game for the balance board? Yes some may have to play more core games in the future based on the BB but the majority (95%) of people bought it for Wii Fit. The hardware was built around the software, it's just a means to allow people to interact with the software and the software is what people are interested in. People don't buy Singstar because they're interested in the Microphone. They buy it because they're interested in singing along to their favourite songs - The microphone allows them to do that. People don't buy the iPhone because it has a multitouch touch screen and an accelerometer. They buy it because you can interact with the system more easily than others and you can do things that simply aren't possible with other phones. It isn't the hardware that makes people say wow I want one - It's the software that uses the hardware.
I can't explain it any clearer really... If you disagree then we'll have to respect each others opinion on that... |
once again with out the hardware provided both (sports/fit) of those units would be nothing special. I read it as this software was built for specific hardware they wanted to put out.
sing star is a different case where you could play the game with hardware that did not ship with the game making it less hardware dependent on top of that its core functunality is not broken if say you only have a headset and a controller vs the mic they include where wii fit does not work without a balance board and wii sports dose not work without motion controls.
and Ill reiterate I consider the Wii a special case.
never said the iphone sold because of this or that only the wii
