That's beside the point. The point is - I think the PS3 hasn't had a console-exclusive shooter before R2 for a long time. Seriously, I remember the hype surrounding Haze. Yeah - nectar, baby - and how it flopped. I think also a lot of the hype surrounds the Halo-Gears franchises. Sony hasn't come close to tarnishing their armor. They want to believe KZ2 will finally - finally get folks on board with the true HD console and off the Loud White Box. Such a pity ...

I certainly don't. Haze was barely hyped at all as far as I recall, and as a PS3 owner, I was keeping my eye on exclusives at the time.

No hype? Are you serious? Type Haze into the site search and see what you get.

Who is to say it won't bring 360 owners over? Your play time with an 8 minute demo? (I could point to evidence found on forums across the net of 360 owners expressing excitement and an eagerness to play the game, but this is the internet, and evidence like that doesn't hold much water.)

Thanks for basically saying 'You don't know jack after playing an 8-minute demo.' If that's the case, how can you say it's greatness after spending time in an 8-minute demo? It's a double-standard, and bots can't stand anything that resembles a harsh comment. Thin skin, I think that's what it's called. As stated, I have all the current gen systems - and think the demo is designed to either sell me on it or not. I wasn't sold. I'm just one person with a very loud voice. Folks see what they want to see. I see a game that doesn't do anything special. Maybe the finished product will show me something different. At this moment, I don't see anything - anything I haven't seen in other shooters. Do something to set yourself out in the crowd. Not gimmicky, but something that makes the average shooter lover saying 'I'm gonna buy this game, even if I have to buy another console for it.'

There were cool touches in the demo, but after playing tons of demos and reviewing a grip of shooters, I'm sorry, but it doesn't have me singing its praises.

"[Sony] want to believe KZ2 will finally, finally get folks on board with the true HD console and off the Loud White Box. Such a pity..."

You seem to think that Killzone 2 is an effort by Sony to convert 360 gamers. Or something.

No. What I am saying is the PS3 has had a long exclusive shooter drought until R2 hit. In the same time, Gears and Gears 2 and Halo 3 hit on the Box, plus Bioshock and even Ace Combat 6. For most 360 folks, it's another shooter with slightly amped up graphics. However, in the demo, I was looking for anything graphically that screamed 'Let at me.' Not. I see the game in context - that it's going to sell, but as the OP asked - what's special? Why should I drop $60 on the game? Can I do a mission where I rain down hot lead on enemy targets in a gunship? Can I man a machine gun on a PBY and rescue stranded sailors? Can I shoot electricity through my hands and shock fools in water? Shoot ... can I run over a Grub or Grunt in a Warthog or tank? Can I go down the digestive tract of a monster?

We'll know soon enough. I am no fooled by shiny, pretty toys. I need some meat with my video games.

With millions of gamers yet to move on to a current gen console, I think Sony would be far happier roping in completely new gamers to their platform, rather then pulling old ones off the 'loud white box'.

Will this game get new gamers? Kill Zone 2 owns Wii confirmed?
