Uhm the layouts are shit which makes the controlls uncomfortable for me and there is no preset set up to play well for me.  And you're taking things a bit out of context when I was meaning the layouts of the controls are much like resistance which I didn't like, but if you were talking about the gunplay Killzone vs Resistance, Killzone is much better as it plays differently and by far better, but it doesn't make the (I'm guessing I have to spell out everything) LAYOUT of the controls aren't suited for the game itself and there's much better layouts for the controls that games like CoD4 use that feels comfortable to the hands as well as quick and easy.

Which is why I said to just put in custom controls, all my issues with playing the game would be gone if that was put into the game... personally I would have fire be R2, gernades R1, zoom in (iron sights) L2, (toggle) crouch/cover L1, knife L3 and melee R3, and it would fix the game.

You're probably the only one who would use that layout, so I don't see why they'd include it.

As for custom controls, most console shooters either force you to use one control scheme or let you choose from two. Killzone 2 gives you six. It's not Guerilla's problem if somebody wants to knife using L3. Because then somebody will want to knife using X. And they have to include all manner of layouts that nobody will ever use. They've explained why they don't want to put toggle crouch or cover in.

It seems to me that you just don't want to like this game. Fair enough. I've had quite a few of those myself.

That would be trolling...  I went into the damn game wanting a console FPS to draw me away from CoD4 on PS3 and WaW on Wii, then I play this "revolutinary" shooter that really adds nothing to the genere except for some new spiffy engine and good AI...

There are plenty of shooters that let you choose your controls and have tons more customization then Killzone 2.

You really get on my nerves with this bullshit you pull, you spout why some game you enjoy is the way it is, ignoring it's not for some people and there's things they could do better, then when I say I'm not looking foraward to two games on the PS3 you asked me why the hell I even bought a PS3... that gets on my damn nerves more then anything, I bought a good system, I enjoy it and it's games, but I'm not some fanboy that will dive into every hyped game and call it the best game ever before I even played the thing, instead of attacking me for not liking a game you should be happy that I bought the system and enjoy it.

I actually buy games that didn't sell well due to the fact that they were actually trying to innovate and no one knows how well it'll catch on so the game never gets the media attention or marketing known as hype. I'm going to play the whole game of Killzone 2 and play it online but I'll be damned if I'm going to just go along with the hype surrounding a game or change my thoughts cause some fans are so rabid that they attack anyone that doesn't agree, it's fucking annoying and needs to stop.  I don't jump down anyone's throat for not enjoying a game I enjoyed and it's actually a good thing to see it cause someone elses opinion could show where the game needs improvement and hopefully will be worked on so the next title will be that much better for you the fan instead of the same game repackaged.

Sorry if I made you angry. I'm just annoyed. It's frustrating when you enjoy a game, and wherever you go, all you see is "X game sucks!"

Yours was the reply that finally made me lose it.

Sorry again.

Look man, fanboys are fanboys, they'll say the game sucks if they have never even seen it, but when someone has had hands on with it and has serious issues but wants to put their thoughts out there, you as a fan don't have to take up for the game, someone that has played it is generally wanting to build it up to be better, it's called constructive criticism, they don't want to tear down a game they want it to improve not just for them but in general.  Take for example IGN talking about control issues with CoD4 on the DS, the team saw this criticism and with WaW on DS they produced a bitching FPS for the DS with better online then Metroid on DS.

I'm not really angry I just get irritated when I enjoy something but if I don't agree with the masses on one subject it's like "then why do you even play/own/buy ____" it's basically asking me why do you even play games to me, I enjoy them, it's one of my hobbies, but I've been gaming forever but never said a game was good because of hype it's always been my personal belief that certain things can improve.  I really hope that games could one day be taken serious as an art form like movies and music but as long as gamers pitch hissy fits over their favorite games it'll never happen, you don't see movie goers get in a flame war over Disney vs Universal or Tim Burton vs George Lucas, it's not that serious and you can give a game just like any other art form general up or down and say what needs to improve just people need to stop taking it so seriously and personal when a game they like gets criticism.

So in short, I appriciate you apologizing but I'm not angry only slightly peeved and thats due to people taking games so serious and personal, we've got to mature as a fanbase :P and thanks for listening it's much better then what most people would do, just know if I say something critical it's to build and inform not to tear down.

Yeah, you're always one of the people who has reasons for disliking a game. Most people don't. Killzone 2 could definitely be improved, not a single game comes to mind that couldn't be. I just believe that it's the best FPS I've ever played, factoring in the fact that I've played two levels of it and no multiplayer.

It just seems that more people dislike KZ2 because of what console it's on than because of actual faults it has (which I manage to overlook, but a lot of people don't). You're certainly not one of these people, you genuinely don't like the controls. I still think that if you gave it another chance, forgetting everything you know about what an FPS should be, just using the controls as they are set out, you'd get used to them and learn to love them.
