I come in during my break and notice certain people posting after my last visit and i braced for some lulz. I was not disappointed....

More OT:

Having read a little more, are people actually bashing Valve as a developer? Please... Valve, Blizzard and Nintendo are probably the 3 untouchable studios who have a literal Midas' Touch. They can touch a piece of crap on the side of the street and it will be worth its weight in gold. Not to mention the fact that Valve (PC developer) is one of the very few studios actually making money and not cutting people. Another would be Blizzard (ANOTHER PC developer, is this a trend?) and some of Activision's studios and Nintendo, just off the top off my head. Though Nintendo is also getting massive profits from the Wii and isn't running solely on its software.

As much as you think god might have sent those developers from heaven, others beg to diifer. Count me amongst them. No game from valve or blizzard has ever interested me and nintendo has not made a game i'd love to play since snes. You can put any developers on whatever pedestal you want. Just don't assume everyone is supposed to share your ideals.

As for the wii and it's profits, think of this analogy: Levi's sell more jeans than diesel...they appeal to the mass market because of their popularity and price. However, I love diesel jeans and would save up to buy the pairs I want. It's nothing against levis, some of us don't agree with the masses...it's that simple.

I was talking financially, obviously enough people around the world like their products to keep them from cutting jobs. Sadly that can't be said for a whole lot of other studios.
