| Kyros said: Unless they really cling to their value add bullshit and refuse to lower the price they will sell more than the 360. Don't think that this is a huge question although the difference won't be huge. The Wii is a different matter but unless it gets a couple games I want to play this is no big problem. The wii will not take developer support from PCS360. They have their own world. |
People that like Japanese games would like to refuse this idea. Don't forget that Playstation used to be THE brand for J-games (I loved it for that) and therefore has many loyal fans that expected this gen to be the same. But Wii has definitely taken over that role, with the more niche titles like Muramasa and Kizuna coming to Wii that would definitely be PS in the past.
Also: Fatal Frame, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter used to be Playstaion exclusives. More will definitely follow. It's absurd to assume that the Killzone and Gears demographic is the only important group.
Yes, obviously. Not only gamers that aren't into Western games (like I mentioned above), but the Playstation used to be the home of the massive casual audience. Not anymore. The PS3 is fighting for exactly the same demographic as 360 (and also PC): those that like mature Western games. Note that this casual audience bought loads of GTA, Need for Speed etc. so earned Sony a lot of money.
