I doubt it will happen, as has been pointed out apple prefers to buy smaller companies. though though apple does have 25B in the bank, and no debt so they can out bid MS if they wanted to, but there is no reason to strain the fiancees to take over sony. Before the wii came out steve went to talk to nintendo in the though of a buyout from what i heard at the time, he pissed them off so no deal was done.
apple is rumored to be looking in to buying RIM lock stock and barrel
