@TheProf: Nintendo has a different approach to 3rd parties. Instead of moneyhatting them for timed exclusives, they hire 3rd parties to make games for them. Factor 5 apparently was working on the type of project, we all know Hudson from Mario Parties and Nintendo also have been lending its characters, for example to Mario and Sonic (the cost apparently was to publish it in Japan). Also, when making the game for Nintendo, you have atleast Miyamoto to work with.
So they all have their own ways to do the same thing.
I doubt Wii will have a trophy system, although Mario Kart had something in lines with it, which could indicate Nintendo could release somekind of skill system. Maybe in form of its own channel or relating to the friends list.
